RapidFLV problems
Posted: 19th December 2008 12:53 AM

Hi

I am trying to put 2 RapidFLV pages into one styled text page using Pluskit (to show 2 videos one under the other on the page) but when I try viewing the single styled text page only one RapidFLV movie shows and the other I get the error message on the page - ‘You need a Flash-Player Plugin to view the Video’. The Rapid FLV pages work fine individually and I can get one RapidFLV page to show but not 2.

Any suggestions please?

Phil

My guess would be that both the RapidFLV areas share the same ID causing confusion. You would have to look at the source code to verify this.

Hi Jim

Thanks, sounds about right but for now I’ve put them on 2 separate pages. Would be good if the plugin could assign (or make it clearer for the user to assign) different IDs to different movies. There is a box in the plugin to change html aspects but without lots of trial and error that’s not going to happen for me.

After further review, there is a place to set the ID. Look in the Settings / General (defaults to: “rapidflv_flashvideo"). You will need to adjust the CSS entry for that also.

I have been waiting for an update to handle multiple clips in one player. I do have a dated JW Mediaplayer (v 2.x) tutorial on my Tutorials site (below).

Hi Jim

Could you do a tute for putting multiple Flash movies in a page? - using RapidFLV (ie not in a jukebox style interface but as separate movies one under the other.

Ok, you twisted my arm.

It’s pretty simple, but if you have any questions, let me know.
