#136.  Posted: 02nd June 2009 06:30 PM

Probably abit late to join in but I just downloaded littlesnapper yesterday - love it so far:

1. Email link from within littlesnapper
2. Manual sorting in collections

I realise Quicksnapper’s in beta, but just in case…
3. Share link to be an email link, not copy/paste
4. Sharing a link gives the recipient option to zoom in
5. Enable multiple identities on an account (or multiple accounts)- as a freelancer I sometimes want to show websnaps as me, sometimes on behalf of a web-dev company I sub for
5b). Privacy setting per image not global

1. A very comprehensive applescript dictionary (ability to add items to library and put them in a collection is most important)
2. Automator support
3.
4.
5.

Hey, I got Little Snapper via Macheist. Here’s my wishlist:

1. Applescript support. I’d like to snap and set coordinates via Applescript. Bonus if you can offset the crosshair relative to the current window but in the beggining snapping from AppleScript would be MAJOR.
2. Cropping of UI elements. Why? Well say I’m watching a quicktime movie and I want to take a screenshot, the UI elements are captured.
3. To make cropping of UI elements simple, let us make cropping PROFILES. And when images are snapped, those images are tagged with the app they were snapped from (if done that way.) And an option could be to auto crop after snapping or crop later or never. So long as you have the profile it doesn’t matter.
4. Annotations via Applescript like for putting watermarks and such.
5. Did I mention AppleScript? :)

1. Download the whole website at one time.
2. Allow the snapper web service have same editing ability as program.  This would allow a client to see website progress and then suggest changes in visual manner.

Great product!  Thank you for all your efforts.

Cheers, Jim

1. Applescript
2. When browsing a website inside LittleSnapper, allow dragging an image in the page to the sidebar.
3. Allow dragging an image from any app to the sidebar directly.
4. More sorting options. particularly “by Date Added”, so when you add a picture from somewhere, it’s not lost at the 345th position.
5. Syncing of description, tags and other metadata from/to flickr after some picture has been uploaded to flickr.

oh, and 6. Filmstrip view

I have 3 things I would find useful.

1) The first would be image sizing after crop. I wouldn’t mind if it were destructive, but would prefer if it weren’t.
2) Clip transparent pixels or top/botom left color - like photoshop
3) Constrained cropping - I’m always surprised this wasn’t included out of the box, please put it in!

Thanks for a great product!

1-3 seem essential to me to make this usable. Right now, the findability problem is huge, after having imported just under 2 thousand screenshots. It’s all meaningless data right now.

1. Tag completion and suggested tags
2. Tag manager
3. Tag filtering (cloud and list)
4. Upload to Amazon S3 storage
5. Copy path of uploaded image / Copy html snippet with img tag / path to uploaded image.

I’m sure this would be sooo easy to do, but I would love you guys for it!

1. Ability to set a smart collection query as “not currently in a collection”

I file all my snaps into collections, but sometimes forget to file them away as soon as I snap them. If I could have a smart collection with only those snaps that have not yet been filed, that’d be awesome.

1. I want to use the left/right arrow keys on the keyboard for next/previouse picture, like in iphoto
2. Snap pictures from the built in isight camera.

1. Option to automatically upload the image to a server of choice and copy url to clipboard.
2. Name the image automatically to timestamp.
3. More filters in smart folders (the most essential to be able to select the publishing account where the image have been uploaded to. So that I can easily find the image and its URL i’m looking for).
4. Sync between multiple mac’s
5. MobileMe sync

1. ability to rename snaps.
2. ability to adjust font size.

You can rename your snaps by changing “Untitled” in the sidebar at the top. Double click it or drag your cursor across it to highlight it and type in the new title.

Also, you can adjust font size by showing the system font panel [cmd + t] and selecting a new size or using the slider, while you have the text box selected.

Allow resizing of the snap area grid before taking the snap (like SnapZ Pro does). This is with regards to the OPTION+CMD+4 functionality.

Thanks,

1. Have a single file library
I don’t think that the idea of having all images in one files is a good one. I think the interaction with other applications and OS X is much better, if there a single file for each capture (e.g. like there is a single file for each email in Apple Mail).

2. Repeat last capture
Enabling a hot key to it. I think this is particular useful, if you want to capture the same area several times (e.g. when clicking through a series of images.)

3. Freeze screen when hot key for capture is pressed.
I wanted to catch an image from a flash sequence on a web page. Very difficult to do with Little Snapper. I know that HyperSnap on Window XP is able to freeze the screen. Thus you can exactly time when to capture and then resize the area at your leisure.

For me, the name of the game is maintaining order through all my snaps..

1. Tag completion, mass-edit tags, etc

4. Text tool improvements: permit immediate typing, postition afterwards, and type in place, not in an edit bubble,
