Hello all-

I’d like to take a moment to announce my latest plugin, weaverBox. Put simply,

WeaverBox is a Rapidweaver plugin to quickly create professional drop boxes. With weaverBox your visitors can upload files to your site for you to retrieve at your leisure. Don’t know what img0402001.jpg is? Visitors can write a quick note to their upload. Want to know when you get a new upload? Optionally enable email notifications. Need a bigger upload limit? Use .htaccess files to override the default PHP configuration for larger uploads. Weaver Box requires a server with PHP 5.2 or greater!

Support will be provided here (in this forum post), by PM, or by my website’s contact form.

I hope everyone enjoys weaverBox (and weaverFM). It has been great getting involved here and developing these plugins (with hopefully more to come!)

Feel free to let me know what you think! 1.0 is all for functionality. I will be adding more features slowly and steadily.

I’m a little sketchy about getting started with this plug-in.  I bought it to simplify uploading for my clients.  I’m only presented with a header/footer editor.  I checked out the page options but see no where to configure where the files are going to be uploaded to.  In addition, when I preview the page I receive this error:

Exception while exporting page
*** -[NSCFString appendString:]: nil argument

Help!

For security, simplicity, and technological reasons no options are provided for choosing where uploads go. Typically a data/ folder is automatically created for you. In the case that it isn’t it may be necessary to create one by hand (looking to see if theres a fix to this.. not sure tho).

I will look into the nil argument issue. It shouldn’t, however, prevent you from using the plugin.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I’ll try uploading it to my site and see if it works even with the error.  I’ll start following the other forum, now.  Thanks again!

Once installed, when I add it to a site, a message comes up that says “WeaverBox 2 is now available.” This message comes up anytime a WeaverBox page is added. I’m sure the message is supposed to be “WeaverBox 1.0.2” instead, but that’s not what it says.

Hi-

Yes I am trying to figure out what happened. Sparkle is reporting the proper version but not parsing the proper version from the server. I may need to release 1.1 sooner rather than later. I have a gut feeling that sparkle isn’t liking the last ‘2’.

I accidently lost a conversation with someone so I will post it here hoping they (and everyone else) will see.

To retrieve files you must log into your host via FTP, navigate to the folder where weaverBox is installed, and go into the data/ folder.

For example:

If the URL to weaverBox is:

http://www.mydomain.us/weaverBox/weaverBox.php

I log into my host via FTP and go to the folder weaverBox. In there I will find a folder called “data” (no quotes) and all my uploads.

Once again sorry to the person who contacted me via chatback whose email I accidently lost. I hope this helps.

mp3, wav, flac, ogg, m4a, m3u

Video:
mov, mp4, m4p, flv, swf, mpeg, mpg

What else? Feel free to suggest additional file types in these two categories or suggest your own categories and file types!
