Notes

This thread is no longer active. Please see this thread for the most recent build of RapidWeaver:

http://www.realmacsoftware.com/forums/index.php/forums/viewthread/23396/

This build will most likely become the final 4.3 release build if no major bugs are reported against it. So give it a whirl and please let us know if there is anything needing attention before we release it.

PS: Don’t forget to keep good backups!

There have been some reports of troubles with the media browser not working after the update to iPhoto 8.1. While we can’t confirm (at this time) that this is the cause we’ve also heard that things are fixed by upgrading to this release. This release candidate does indeed use an updated version of the iMediaBrowser source so if you are still experiencing conflicts, please let us know in this thread.

Hello all,
I tested version 4.3, but I have a problem with instability during searching in blog page. This problem has already appeared in the previous beta, ie before the correction of searching in the blog page.

Description of the issue:
- Searching in 4.3 finds a significantly larger number of results than version 4.2.3, but most of search not contain the search term. For instance: term ‘PC’ it finds in the same document in version 4.2.3: 1x, in version 4.3: 17x.
- Sometime appears all articles as search results, though I have entered a term that is not included anywhere.
- Within a few seconds, the pizza-cursor appears and RW freezes.

Does anybody else have this problem or just me? Sad

Hi Martin,

Did you see this problem in the 4.2x versions of RapidWeaver?

Does it crash or just get stuck with the spinning cursor? If you could send a crash report or console log that would be very helpful too. In the meantime, I’ll do some testing with bigger blog archives to see if I can reproduce the problem.

As for the increase in matches, this is expected behaviour. The search field now does suffix matching in addition to prefix matching so there will be more partial hits. ie: th will match the and fifth. If you want a literal match, put the search term in quotes. ie: “the” doesn’t match there.

Hi Kevin,
- To date no crash, just the spinning cursor
- My blog contains 362 posts

Kevin,
Console log and Crash report I sent you in PM.

Other findings:
- All pages except blog work correctly for me
- If I hide themes and plugins from 3rd party during RW booting, the blog page behaves still the same way.

Not able to Export Site using RapidWeaver 4.3 RC 1. After it saves the project and before it actually starts the process of exporting the program stops responding.

I forgot to mention that I’m running it on Snow Leopard 10.6.

Problem with the Quicktime page:

I was alerted to this this morning by a customer. I don’t know if this is something that has always been a bug, or one which has turned up in this Beta.

Basically, it would seem that any theme where you have a drop-down menu, the drop down menu is rendered behind the Quicktime movie. I thought this might have just been an isolated z-index bug with the Media theme. But having tested Alpha, Caribou, Modern Grunge, and Possible themes, these all have the same bug. A number of third-party themes with drop down menu’s also have the same issue. See attached screen grab:

I can’t see what is causing this issue or how long it has been going on for. But IMO this needs to be fixed due to the growing number of themes with drop-down menu’s. I searched these forums, but it did not turn up any significant information on this problem. Could this be a problem introduced with RapidWeaver 4.3?

Should we hold off putting on our Snowy Leotards ... uh ... I mean ... well, you know, until RW fixes glitches?

Yeah, that gets my vote.

What’s the rush to use Snow Leopard? Everyone should chill. I’m going to wait many weeks until Apple updates the OSX because of the host of incompatibilities with current software.

Agreed.

Much as I am excited about SL - system integrity takes priority.

After installing Snow Leopard I can’t start up some of the RW projects.

I am using the latest version of RW but the software seems to ‘hang’ when I try to open some of the projects.

Any idea why?

Hi Kevin...and the RW-Team!

It looks like that the Umlaute bug with some servers is not yet fixed with 4.3 RC1

Still the same problem like in this post from me http://www.realmacsoftware.com/forums/index.php/forums/viewthread/22292/

Well...it works if you use the “special character” code for the “Umlaut” but that was not a problem with 4.2.1…

Do you think you can fix it?

THX Mani

PS: Thank you guys for all the hard work you do to give us the best tools to work with!!! Wink
