*UPDATE* Slider Version 0.94b Release
#76.  Posted: 18th November 2008 12:29 PM

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the update and you have my sympathy with your ‘troubles’ - my work brings often brings me too close to the Windows/IE environment for comfort!

I’m keen to use a slider on my company home page but as my customer base is very Windows/IE dominated, I’m having to rein-in my enthusiasm until the IE7 behaviour is stable.

Still, I can’t wait to try the new beta - good luck with the final tweaks.
Best
Keith..

Yes I understand - I have always planned on making it work properly with IE7+, I just didn’t know the browser was *this* nasty!

I may have to resort to show/hiding the cells with javascript, if I can’t make IE7 treat overflow:hidden with the respect it deserves.

Thanks for your sympathy, it does make it better to know others have had similar frustrations.

Why Microsoft, WHY!?

I have been working with slider and I like it!
Is there a way I can link each picture to another page?

I have tried to add url in the link section but it does not seem to work Is there a manual for this?

SORRY I Found where to add a hyperlink.!

Again thanks for a great addon!

Please confirm that this displays correctly in IE7?

I’ll download IE8 later (when I get home from work) to test that as well.

http://pagesofinterest.net/code/of_interest/slider/

-> Slider should transition left every one second.
-> Slider should look the same in Firefox/IE7/Safari

thank you for your excellent service

I do not know if I am the only one who is interested in adding hyperlinks for each image in a slider sequence? It would be a nice idea maybe for the future?

I am running an internet shop with a corporate site (in swedish) see link http://sunsalutation.se/produkter/produkter.html for me it would be a dream to add a link to the shop for each image and save me a whole bunch of extra words!

Again thank you for the possibility to use your add on at such affordable cost!

Hi Michael, They all seem to look and behave the same way IE/Safari/Firefox on Mac. Some artefacts appear just to the left of the background octagon ‘before’ the slider gets into the box.

Looks promising!

Do you mean a link that, when clicked, takes one to a Slider page and makes the slider automagically slide to the specified cell?

Yes I agree this would be useful, and will think on how to implement it.

It won’t be included in the next release though.

When I’ve thought about it I’ll post back with whether it will be easy/possible for me to implement.

That page looks great, by the way!

EDIT: I’ve looked into it over the past 5 minutes, and I can say (tentatively) that this feature could be included in the 0.95b release.  Please realise that I could be wrong, and it could turn out to be harder than I currently think.

I’ve finished the timed transitions.  I meant to have it all done yesterday, but I didn’t get time, sorry about that.

Tomorrow I’ll do some testing, then release it.

Thanks for your patience!

Here is an image of the options available in the new timed transition section:
