Hi Aron,

I’ve decided to use DW based purely on the fact that all of the examples in my book are in DW.
Trying to learn a new ;language (PHP) whilst learning a new package is complicating matters for my tiny little mind.

Thanks again for your help.

No problem, I hope it goes well Smile

Cheers,

Aron

Hi,

I cannot get my contact page to work. When I hit “submit email”, the form appears to simply reset—I lose all information inputted into the various fields, and go back to the blank contact page. No error message appears, and no email is sent (according to my host).

I have done steps 1 - 5 specified in Aron’s email. All appears good with one exception. Concerning step 5, when I preview the html page with the code on it, I simply get a blank page. Nothing at all on it. After I publish, the html page “info.php” again shows only as a blank page.

My host says that PHP (version 4.3) is enabled. I have another website hosted by the same company and the Rapidweaver contact form is working fine on that site.

The site is www.johnhunterbedandbreakfast.com.au
To get to the “info.php” page, go to the “Contact Us” page and I have linked the html page at the bottom right of the page.
I am using BlocksBox theme.

If you have any ideas, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much.
Rob

After submitting the form, the address bar shows: http://www.johnhunterbedandbreakfast.com.au/page2/contactus.php?month=7&year=2008&form_element0=rob&form_element1=robbrook@bigpond.com&form;_element2=&form;_element3=&form;_element4=&form_element5=ehay&submitButton=Submit+Email

Update: On the published site, when you add /contactform.php to the home page address bar, you get the contact form as it is before being inserted into the BlocksBox “Contact Us” page, as a page box. The contact form itself works fine. It is only when it is placed in a BlocksBox page that it stops working.

If you have any ideas, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much.

Hi Rob,

Could you post a link to the contact form published normally and not included in a blocks page.  I think this may be causing the issue. Also your info.php page is not working because the filename is .html. You can change this in the Page Inspector under Filename. Just change the extension to .php

Cheers,

Aron

Hi Aron,

Thanks very much for your help. When I corrected the filename the info.php page worked as it should, and it showed that the server was handling mail from a php form.

Concerning the contact form issue, I created a new BlocksBox page in which I re-embedded the contact form and it is now working fine.

Thanks very much for the support.

Hi

newbie here so apologies if its a ‘user error’ problem.

I’ve made my first page, and the contact form displays simply as the html code. I’ve made the various checks recommended without any joy. (the php check page displays nothing)

my host is 123 who appear to use php.

web site is http://www.s-tec.me

can you advise ?

many thanks
Mark
