Say Hello to RapidWeaver 4

After almost a year in development, we're thrilled to finally launch RapidWeaver 4.0! The new version is a substantial upgrade to the way the application works, so in order to make the transition as smooth as possible, here's a few tips to help ensure your update goes without a hitch. We've also got a newly-updated Frequently Asked Questions page that you might also want to read through.

RapidWeaver 4.0 is Leopard-only, and will not work with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). However, we are going to be updating RapidWeaver 3.6 for Tiger users soon - so don't worry if you've not yet upgraded to Leopard.

If you use any third-party plugins in your project file, please be sure to update your plugins before using RapidWeaver 4. Both YourHead Software and Loghound Software have now updated their plugins for RapidWeaver 4 (and they also work with RapidWeaver 3.6) so be sure that you've download the latest versions of any third party plugins before using RapidWeaver 4.

Today we're also changing the way we handle support for RapidWeaver. From today we will be handling all support through our dedicated Technical Support forums (a separate area on the forums from the community discussions). Because all the Realmac team will be checking these forums on a regular basis, your questions will be answered even quicker. We've also migrated the forums to a new system, moving over our users to the new system. There's been a few hiccups overnight with this transition (more details can be found here) however we're working on these issues.

Of course, RapidWeaver 4.0 is just the beginning for this new version and if you come across any issues, please get in touch via our dedicated Bug Reporting form. We will of course ensure that any niggling problems get fixed in the near future!

On behalf of all of us at Realmac HQ, thanks for your continued support over the past year.

Happy Weaving!
