The Story So Far
Ever since we found out about EventBox in late 2008, all of us at Realmac Software have been keeping a keen eye on its development. We've often toyed with the idea of making an application similar to EventBox to keep our Twitter, Flickr, RSS and other accounts in one place.
We're thrilled to announce today that Realmac Software has acquired EventBox from The Cosmic Machine. We love their vision for the application, and want to build on EventBox's great start to make it rock even more.
Our Plans
In November, we're going to be launching EventBox 1.0 under a new name: Socialite! If you're wondering why we're changing the name, the Mac's built-in dictionary describes a socialite as '[someone] who is well known in fashionable society and is fond of social activities and entertainment' - and we think it's a pretty-darn-good match for a stylish Mac OS X social networking application!
We know that some folks have already bought a copy of EventBox from The Cosmic Machine, however you don't need to worry! When Socialite launches we'll be emailing you a shiny new serial number to use with Socialite so that you can keep tweeting, Digging and reading your feeds!
As this is just the beginning for Socialite, we really want to hear your feedback on how we can make the application even better - feel free to drop by the Realmac Software forums and let us know what you think. In the meantime we're hard at work to make sure that, come November, Socialite is the best social networking application on your Mac.
